Parvez Ahmed, Ph.D., is the Chief of Analytics for the Office of the Mayor, City of Jacksonville, and a Professor of Finance (on leave) at the University of North Florida. A 2009 U.S. Fulbright Scholar, his research has appeared in leading academic journals, and he co-authored Mutual Funds – Fifty Years of Research Findings. Parvez has served on numerous civic boards, including MOSH and the World Affairs Council, and previously on Jacksonville’s Human Rights Commission. His honors include OneJax’s Humanitarian Award, Folio Weekly’s “Person of the Year,” and the Desmond Tutu Peace and Reconciliation Award. He has also written numerous op-eds and articles that have appeared in newspapers and magazines across the nation.
